We are pleased to announce that the 4yo mare Sonnig will be joining the stable. As you will see from her Walking Video she is a big, scopey mare and impressive type.

Sonnig is by the Everest winner Yes Yes Yes out of a Monsun mare, Sunnyvale. She is the half sister to El Soleado who has won six races and gives the family black type that should provide some residual value if we can get Sonnig winning some races.

Sonnig has had two starts over unsuitable distances of 1200m and 1400m in strong maiden races in Victoria. Her 1400m effort came in a genuine midweek metropolitan maiden, beaten just 3.4 lengths, and the form has since been franked strongly with four of the other five runners subsequently winning.

After these races she has been given time to mature and we believe she now presents as a mare that will appreciate middle distance racing. Whilst being sired by a speed stallion in Yes Yes Yes she looks to have thrown more to the Monsun side with most of the family  performing in the 1600m-2400m range. Races at these distances tend to be less competitive and, as a result, we believe this provides a realistic pathway to winning races with a mare that has been purchased at a reasonable price.

She is due to arrive in the stable early next week and will be available for inspection. We are still finalising her transport from Victoria but the cost per 10% ownership interest will be less than $900 including GST.
